Five Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in the antiterrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas on 8 January, the Defence Ministry's spokesperson for ATO issues, Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, told a briefing on 9 January.
"No Ukrainian soldiers were killed but five troops were wounded," he said.
The ATO HQ earlier said that Russia-backed militants carried out attacks with small arms and heavy weapons.
On 7 January, six Ukrainian soldiers were injured in the ATO area.
