Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed over the past day, 26 January, in the zone of military operations in Donbas. ATO headquarters reported 63 cases of shelling by the Russian-occupation forces last day.

In the Mariupol sector, the enemy pounded Shyrokyne from 152-mm artillery, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms while 122-mm artillery fired at Talakivka. The Russia-backed militants fired mortars of various calibres at Lebedynske, Krasnohorivka, Talakivka and Vodyane. Novogryhorivka, Hnutove and Pavlopil were attacked with the use of rocket-propelled grenades and small arms. An enemy sniper was active in the area of Novotroitske, ATO HQ said in a release.

In the Luhansk sector, the enemy fired 20 rounds of Grad shells at the positions of government troops in the area of Novozvanivka, and used 122-mm artillery. Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Novozvanivka, Vodyane, Novooleksandrivka and Popasna were shelled from 120- and 82-mm mortars.

In the Donetsk sector, militants used mortars of different calibers, firing at the positions of Ukrainian army in the areas of Avdiyivka, Verhnyotoretske and Zaitsev. Novhorodske, Kamyanka and Avdiyivka were pounded from grenade launchers and small arms.

In the previous 12 days, five civilians were killed and four wounded, mostly as a result of the use of heavy weapons, said the OSCE mission.
