Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said a cabinet meeting on 1 February that explosives and maintenance crews were now heading to the damaged stretch of power mains near Avdiyivka.
"As of 12:00, the permission was obtained to survey and demine the areas near power mains for rescue and recovery operations. Two explosives units of the emergency service are followed by two repair crews, who will restore electricity supply immediately after mine clearance operations are complete," the prime minister told the meeting.
The head of the Donetsk regional military and civil administration, Pavlo Zhebrivskyy, said on Facebook:
"The Russian side of the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of Cease-Fire provided us with a written confirmation of guarantees of a ceasefire. Three days of incredible efforts by the president of Ukraine and our international partners. Our maintenance crews have approached the area of the damaged power line. A team of electrical engineers from the occupied territories is on its way."
