President Petro Poroshenko commented on the corruption probe against the chairman of the State Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov. "NABU is an independent agency," Poroshenko told reporters in Kharkiv on 3 March and stressed that everyone is equal before the law.
"Independent law enforcement agencies have to do their business in full compliance with all the requirements of the law," the president told Interfax-Ukraine.
Poroshenko said that independent anti-corruption agencies have every chance to get the job done.
"I am confident that the creation with the participation of the president of an independent anti-corruption agency only proves that it is truly independent and has the ability to do their job. Surely, it should be accomplished and the justification must be serious," said the president.
