Despite the agreement on a ceasefire, Russia-backed militant forces 32 times fired on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the past day. One Ukrainian serviceman was injured, the antiterrorist operation (ATO) HQ reported on Monday, 3 April.
The enemy was most active in the Mariupol sector. Militants used 20-mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns and small arms to shell the positions of Ukrainian marines in the area of Pavlopil. With 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms they pounded the defenders of Krasnohorivka. They opened harassing fire with grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms near Vodyane, Shyrokyne and Chermalyk.
In the Donetsk sector, the largest number of attacks was seen in Avdiyivka, where Ukrainian troops were shelled with 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and heavy machine guns. In the areas of Zaytseve, Troyitske and the Butivka mine, Ukrainian troops were pounded with heavy machine guns, the same happened near Kamyanka and Opytne. In the area of Troyitske, an enemy sniper was active.
In the Luhansk sector, Russian-backed terrorist units fired automatic grenade launchers on the positions of Ukrainian Armed Forces in Krymske. The defenders of Valuyske and Stanytsya Luhanska were under the fire of small arms.
Ukrainian servicemen strictly observed the regime of silence and did not return fire.
Four Ukrainian troops were reported wounded on 1 April, the first day of ceasefire.
