​Ukraine improved foreign trade balance

In the first quarter of 2017, Ukraine's positive balance of foreign trade in goods and services improved 248.7mn dollars compared to the first quarter of 2016 and amounted to 106.2mn dollars, according to a report by the State Statistics Service on 15 May. According to the SSS, the foreign trade turnover in the first quarter of 2017 amounted to 24,783.6mn, a 5,198.1mn dollar or 26.5% increase over the first quarter of 2016.

The volume of trade with the former Soviet countries amounted to 4,944.6mn, an increase of 1,193.3mn dollars, or 31.8% over 2015.

In 2016, the positive balance of foreign trade in goods and services slid down 3,490.9mn over 2015 to 337.3mn.

In 2015, the positive balance of foreign trade in goods and services improved by 708.3mn over 2014 and amounted to 4,064.5mn dollars.
