President Petro Poroshenko says he is expecting that the visa-free regime with the United Arab Emirates will come into force in December. "I have good news for many Ukrainians who are going to visit the UAE soon. Today, I have signed a document on the abolition of visas for Ukrainians who are planning to visit this state... Already in December, when this agreement will come into force after an exchange of notes, Ukrainians will be able to freely travel to another extremely important and attractive country. The value of Ukrainian passports continues to grow," the president said on Thursday, 2 November, after a working visit to the Emirates.
The president noted that more than 112 thousand Ukrainians have visited the UAE in 2016.
Poroshenko added that on his instructions the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is continuing negotiations with a number of countries on the introduction of a visa-free regime, and also announced that "pleasant news" will be announced in the next few months.
