Poroshenko dumps idea of breaking diplomatic relations with Russia
The president visited his faction's meeting before the vote on Donbas bill.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko spoke against the severance of diplomatic relations with Russia, MP Ivan Vynnyk (PPB) said Wednesday evening on the TV channel Direct after a meeting of the PPB fraction attended by Poroshenko. "The president does not support the idea of breaking diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation. The idea that I suggest will be discussed by the [foreign affairs] committee. We shall decide on the modality," Vynnyk said.
Vynnyk introduced the amendment on the severance of diplomatic relations with Russia into the bill on the restoration of sovereignty over Donbas.
The bill has been approved in the first reading.
