The Cabinet of Ministers has extended until September 2018 the term of the regulations instructing the national oil and gas company Naftohaz Ukrayiny and district heating companies to supply gas to households at the existing rates.

The government explained that negotiations with the IMF on efforts to ensure the parity of gas tariffs with import prices are still underway.

Therefore, 1,000 cu.m. will cost households and district heating companies 4,942 hryvnyas until September, while end customers will have to pay 6,958 hryvnyas, including VAT and other fees.

The IMF insists that gas prices for households must be raised from 30% to 60% because of the growing prices in international markets. However, the cabinet considers this increase unjustified.
