The Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate decided at a meeting in the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra on 25 September that it should stop praying together with the hierarchs of the Constantinople-based Ecumenical Patriarchate.

It also demanded that Patriarch Bartholomew's exarchs "must leave the canonical territory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church" of the Moscow Patriarchate because their activity is "anti-canonical and disrupt peace between confessions in Ukraine".

The Synod also called on the Ukrainian parliament to drop legislative attempts aimed at the "legal liquidation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church [of the Moscow Patriarchate] through a hostile takeover by means of renaming".
