Parliament passed bill No 9524 banning Russian nationals from monitoring elections in Ukraine.

"Representatives of the occupying state, which has been waging war for over four years, has neither legal nor moral right to come to us. We cannot even imagine who these observers could be. These could be saboteurs, provocateurs," the head of the parliamentary commentary for foreign affairs, Anna Hopko, said.

"Let Russia learn to respect our sovereignty, we will restore our territorial integrity and there will be a different discussion," she added.

MP Volodymyr Aryev recalled that "Armenian observers never visit Azerbaijan and vice versa because there is a conflict between the [two] countries".

The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine earlier repeatedly said that it would not register Russian official observers at the Ukrainian presidential election.
