Google Maps has blocked two functions in Ukraine that provide users with real-time information, CNN reports. These include real-time traffic, which some researchers have used to remotely monitor conflict, as well as Live Business, a feature that helps you understand how popular a location can be at a given time.
After consulting with the Ukrainian authorities, Google decided to make changes to ensure the safety of Ukrainians, the company said.
According to Google, traffic updates are still available in Ukraine when using Google Maps navigation mode.
