President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed Decree №82 / 2022 on the introduction of a visa-free regime for foreigners who are willing to help protect Ukraine from Russian aggression.

The corresponding document is published on the President's website.

"Subsequent to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, I hereby resolve, as of March 1, 2022, temporarily, for the period of martial law, until the President of Ukraine resolves otherwise, a visa-free regime for entry into Ukraine for foreign nationals wishing to join The International Legion of Defense, except for the citizens of the states recognized as the aggressors", - it is stated in the decree.

The President also instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to take measures arising from this Decree.

The Decree takes immediate effect.

As reported yesterday by Oleksii Arestovych, advisor to the Head of the Office of the President in Ukraine, a foreign legion of volunteers has been formed in Ukraine.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba also noted that it will be easier to enter Ukraine for those foreigners who are willing to join the International Legion. He added that the problem is that it is currently impossible to get to the country by plane, but assured that Ukraine will assist foreigners in their urge to come and fight.

President Zelensky called upon all foreigners who want to protect security in Europe to join the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine.
