Almost thirty Russian citizens were included in the updated EU sanctions list in connection with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The sanctions affect:
- Press secretary of Russian President, Dmitry Peskov
- "Putin's Wallet," Sergei Roldugin
- One of the oligarchs close to Putin, Peter Aven
- Billionaire Alexei Mordashov
- Head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin
- Businessman Mikhail Friedman
- Chairman of Transneft, Mykola Tokarev
- Businessman Alisher Usmanov
- Minister of Construction and Housing of Russia, Irek Faizullin
- Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Vitaly Savelyev
- Russian Deputy Prime Minister for Tourism, Sports and Culture, Dmitry Chernyshenko
- TV presenter Olga Skabeeva
- Author of documentaries for Russian TV channels (particularly a propaganda supporting the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol), Arkady Mamontov
and others.
Sanctions also affected Russian insurance company “SOGAZ”.
On February 28, the UK announced new strong sanctions against Russia. They will affect three more Russian banks. London will freeze the assets of VEB, “Sovkombank,” and “Otkrytie”.
