France is moving its embassy from Kyiv to Lviv. This was stated by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian, according to CNN.
"We decided, at the request of the President of France, to transfer our embassy, which was in Kyiv all this time. Due to the risks and threats to the Ukrainian capital, the embassy is being relocated to Lviv. The ambassador remains in Ukraine to support our citizens, as well as the Ukrainian authorities, "Le Drian said.
"The threats were serious enough to relocate," the Foreign Affairs Minister for France stated.
After Russian President Vladimir Putin put deterrence forces, including Russia's nuclear forces, on alert, Le Drian said: "This is a useless, disproportionate threat."
