Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda warned that not a single country in Europe “may feel safe” when it comes to President Putin, considering it is already the 6th day of the Russian invasion in Ukraine. He said this in a comment for CNN.

“Not a single country in the European Union, in Europe, can feel safe now. Yes, Ukraine is the number one target, but if we can’t support Ukraine, if Ukraine falls, be sure that we will be next, that Russia will be at our doorstep.” — said Nauseda while answering whether Putin may start an aggressive campaign against Baltic states.

Previously, Lithuania, Estonia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Slovenia had published an open letter calling on the EU to immediately give Ukraine the status of an EU candidate country and begin negotiations for the official accession of Ukraine to the Union.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó also announced that his country supports the accelerated accession of Ukraine to the EU.
