The European Court of Human Rights has issued a ruling ordering Russia to stop attacks and bombing of civilian objects in Ukraine, European Truth reports.

According to the European Court of Human Rights ruling, "the Court takes note of the ongoing combat actions that began on 24 February 2022 in various parts of Ukraine and considers that they pose a real and continuing threat of serious violations of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, in particular under Articles 2, 3 and 8 of the Convention".

The European Court has ordered "the Russian government to refrain from military attacks on civilians and civilian objects, including housing, emergency vehicles."

Russia was also obliged not to harm civilian objects - schools, hospitals, and immediately ensure "the safety of medical institutions, personnel and rescue services within the territory attacked or besieged by Russian troops."

On February 28th, the Ukrainian side applied to the European Court of Human Rights for preliminary measures in accordance with Rule 39.

This rule stipulates that the European Court of Human Rights issues an order to a state party to the European Convention on Human Rights at the time of the case. The order of the European Court is binding.

As reported earlier, on February 22 the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Maliuska declared that Ukraine prepares to submit additional evidence to the European Court of Human Rights concerning actions of the Russian Federation in Donbass.
