Démarche for Lavrov: EU and allies diplomats left the room during speech of Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs in Geneva

Representatives of Europe and other allies delivered a démarche for the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation during his online speech at the UN conference on Disarmament in Geneva.

In the video posted by the French delegation you can see dozens of officials leaving the room at the beginning of Lavrov’s speech.

“Walk out from the EU and its partners during the statement from Minister Lavrov at the Conference on Disarmament this morning to show our support to Ukraine,” the tweet says.

In his speech to the UN Human Rights Council, Lavrov announced that he was not present in person because of those "outrageous" measures of the EU, that is to say, applying sanctions against Russia after its invasion of Ukraine.
