Dmitry Medvedev, a deputy head of Russia's Security Council, former President and former Prime Minister, was retorting to a comment by French finance minister Bruno Le Maire on Tuesday that the European Union was going to unleash an all-out economic and financial war against Russia. 

He tweeted: "Today, some French minister has said that they declared an economic war on Russia. "Watch your tongue, gentlemen! And don't forget that in human history, economic wars quite often turned into real ones."

As reported before, on February 22 Russia recognized the terrorist organizations so called "DNR" and "LNR" which operated in the occupied territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk areas of Ukraine, as "independent republics". A number of countries have announced sanctions, including the suspension of the Nord Stream-2 project. "Then Russian Prime Minister Medvedev, who is also a deputy head of Russia's Security Council, threatened to raise gas prices to 2,000 euros per cubic meter. Welcome to the new world where Europeans will pay 2,000 euros for gas, "Medvedev said.

On February 24, at 5 am, Russian President Putin declared war on Ukraine. The Russian army is firing at Ukrainian cities and villages, destroying infrastructure. According to recent opinion polls, Polish people believe that after Ukraine, Putin will attack them.
