Oil and gas company Shell plc intends to withdraw it shares from joint ventures with Gazprom, including its 27.5% shares in the Sakhalin-II LNG project, 50% hares in Salym Petroleum Development, and leave the joint venture of Gydan Energy and Gazprom Neft, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
At the same time, the company plans to stop participating in the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline project. All this is a consequence of Russia's war against Ukraine.
Earlier, the Norwegian energy company Equinor announced the cessation of new investments in Russia. Equinor also announced its exit from joint ventures with Russia. This decision of the company was made due to sanctions imposed by Norway, the EU and the United States against Russia.
