Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Eduard Heger proposed to accept Ukraine to the EU according to a special procedure. Tonight Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already talked about this with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
The information has been published by The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
“Ukrainians have proved long ago that all of us is an integral part of the European community. Now it is high time to put it on paper. Ukraine is applying for joining the EU according to a special procedure,” commented Shmyhal.
He said that ukrainians had long ago chosen the European vector.
“We expect the decision to be made immediately. As the President has said it is possible and fair. Thank all the partners for their support. Everything will be Ukraine!” – summed up the Prime Minister.
Today in the morning Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine addressed the European Union about an immediate membership according to a new special procedure. The particularities of this procedure have not been announced.
