During the occupiers' raid on Vasylkiv and Brovary, Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters intercepted and shot down two Russian planes. Three more Russian planes were shot down by S-300 complexes. This was reported by the Military TV of Ukraine.
A total of 5 fighters of the occupiers were shot down on February 28, according to preliminary data, amongst them are Su-30 and Su-35.
The report also states that Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners shot down a cruise missile and a helicopter near Kyiv with the help of Buk-M1 anti-aircraft systems. During the day, Ukrainian Su-25 attack aircraft repeatedly struck columns of armored vehicles in Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions. Ukrainian Su-24 M bombers struck four bombs at tank, mechanized, and fuel-powered columns in the Chernihiv region and near Berdyansk.
