A pre-trial investigation regarding Russian missile attacks on settlements in the region is under way.
This was reported in the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine
The actions of the country-aggressor country are qualified as a violation of the laws and customs of war (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
"According to the investigation, the servicemen of the Russian Federation are conducting massive shelling of residential areas of the settlements of Kyiv region," said at prosecutor's office.
Thus, in the evening of 28 February 2022, enemy missiles hit a five-story dormitory building in Vasylkiv and a three-story dormitory building in Bila Tserkva.
Due to shelling three residential buildings were destroyed in the village Kalynivka of Fastiv district. Also there is damage to the maternity hospital building in the region.
As a result of shelling, the infrastructure of the cities was destroyed, five civilians were injured and four more were killed.
In total, since the beginning of the invasion of the Russian armed forces into Ukraine, 19 civilians have died in Kyiv region, including one child.
Prosecutors continue recording and documenting all cases of violations of international humanitarian law by units of the Russian Armed Forces.
The investigation is being conducted under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Region Prosecutor's Office.
