The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges to not offer bribes to the customs officers for extraordinary or illegal border crossing.

“You will be denied, the National Police of Ukraine will be informed (you will have problems with the law), and then you will be taken to the enlistment office,” the statement says.

Besides, the actions of those who are trying to “solve the issue” are distracting border guards from performing their immediate duties.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also reported that on February 28 almost 108 000 people and 15 000 vehicles have crossed the Ukrainian state border at its western part.

These figures are about 10% lower than those of February 27. About 8 000 vehicles are now waiting in queues.

Almost 96 000 people left Ukraine for the EU and Moldova. In particular, the border with Poland was crossed by 61 000 people, the rest crossed the borders to Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, and Moldova.

“We also would like to note, that in 5 days of fighting the aggression there are not only people leaving Ukraine. Almost 80 000 of our citizens, most of them men, have returned to Ukraine. Patriots who worked or temporarily lived abroad are coming to Ukraine to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations, and territorial defense forces. We are proud of our citizens!” the statement says.

It should be noted that the occupancy of checkpoints is covered every three hours on the Western Regional Office Western Border so that citizens can choose the least busy checkpoint.

520 000 Ukrainians are already seeking shelter in other countries

All of the checkpoints on the Western border are open 24h a day. Checking operations are simplified as much as possible, the list of documents needed to leave the country is minimized.

Border and customs officers from border countries have also simplified entering procedures as much as possible.
