The press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine has said that border guards had detained two men at the Hrushiv checkpoint in the Lviv region, one of whom presented a prosecutor's ID and an overdue receipt for special military registration.
"The violators - a 32-year-old man and his 56-year-old father - arrived at the border in an SUV. The driver gave the border guards a document for special military registration. When it became clear that the document was overdue, its owner took out the ID of an employee of one of the prosecutor's offices in Kyiv," the Service said.
Border guards with an internal security officer found three pistols, more than 100 rounds of ammunition, a knife, 83 pieces of jewellery of various denominations, 15 collectable coins and 40 thousand dollars among the items.
"Currently, border guards have allowed them to leave Ukraine. The issue of instituting criminal proceedings for the illegal handling of weapons is being resolved. Customs officers will draw up a report on violation of customs rules," the SBGS said.
As you know, for the period of martial law, men aged 18 to 60, with some exceptions, are restricted from leaving Ukraine.
We remind that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine urged not to offer bribes to frontier guards for extraordinary or illegal border crossing.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the day of 28 February, almost 108,000 people and nearly 15,000 vehicles crossed the state border of Ukraine in the western part.
