The press service of the Verkhovna Rada informed that deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Committee on Health Care appealed to the Red Cross to provide "green corridors" to remove patients from Russian-occupied territories.

"The Committee continues to actively address issues regarding the organization of medical facilities during the war. Today, deputies appealed to the Red Cross to provide "green corridors" for the removal of sick, injured and children from Russian-occupied territories," the statement said.

It also says that the deputies unanimously supported the decision to send an official letter at a meeting of the Committee.

The deputies also decided to send a letter to the WHO and the Red Cross with a request to provide Ukraine with humanitarian aid (medicines and medical equipment).

"These appeals will allow us to intensify cooperation with international medical organizations. We expect the result soon," said Committee Chairman Mykhailo Radutskyy.

Earlier, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk appealed to representatives of international humanitarian organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, to do everything possible to organize a humanitarian corridor for citizens who remain in Donbas and Russian-occupied cities as well as in other cities where active hostilities continue.

Today the mayor of Kherson also asked to provide a "green corridor" to the city's residents as the city is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe due to the actions of the Russian occupiers.

After the military invasion of Ukraine on 24 February, the Russian army has continued to bomb and shell Ukrainian cities and towns. Hospitals and children's institutions were repeatedly hit.
