Okhtyrka Combined Heat and Power (CHP) was destroyed as a result of aerial bombing by Russian fighter aircraft as reported by Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the Head of the Sumy Regional State Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyy.
"The engine room has been completely bombed. There is no heating or electricity in the city. We are trying to resolve the issue of how to urgently evacuate people from the city, because in a day apartment buildings will turn into a cold stone trap without water, light and electricity," Zhyvytskyy wrote.
Okhtyrka CHP is a thermal power plant that provides businesses and residents of Okhtyrka with electricity and heat.
