Dmytro Kuleba to Shell: Does Russian oil not smell like Ukrainian blood to you?

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba addressed Shell, which had bought Russian oil during the Russian aggression against Ukraine, in his Twitter.

"I was told that Shell had secretly bought Russian oil yesterday. One question to Shell: does Russian oil not smell like Ukrainian blood to you? I call on all responsible people around the world to demand that transnational companies sever all business ties with Russia," he wrote.

On March 5, Bloomberg reported that Shell had purchased a consignment of Russian Urals oil at a record discount of $ 28.45 per barrel. The agreement was reached despite the massive refusal of global companies to cooperate with Russia.

Earlier, Shell announced its intention to withdraw from joint ventures with Gazprom and reduce the use of Russian oil.

It should be reminded that the US is preparing to ban the import of Russian oil. Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the United States is "interested in the degradation of Russian energy sector" and reducing dependence on Russian energy in the long run.

On March 3, the US Senate introduced a bill to impose large-scale sanctions against all Russian state-owned enterprises called "Heroyam Slava". The sanctions include a ban on access to the US capital market for Russian state-owned companies.

On March 1, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a ban on Russian oil imports.
