The Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation no longer chairs the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions INTOSAI.

This was announced by the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine Valeriy Patskan.

“All affairs of the organization, which has 196 full members, will be managed by the General Secretariat and the Vice President of INTOSAI. This will happen until Brazil’s Supreme Audit Institution is inaugurated as the President of the INTOSAI in November 2022,” the report informs.

The Secretary General of INTOSAI, the President of the Accounting Chamber of Austria, Margit Kracker, sent a letter to the members of the INTOSAI Board.

Margit Cracker is concerned about the war in Ukraine and insists on the importance of the humanitarian cohesion of the INTOSAI community. The organization is committed to the goals of sustainable development of the United Nations, one of which is to achieve peace and justice.

“Following my appeal to INTOSAI and the EUROSAI Governing Board, which supported Ukraine on the need to end chairing of Russia, the Secretary General of INTOSAI consulted with the Governing Board on this issue and the war in Ukraine. It turned out that the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber of Russia informed the Governing Board about the impossibility of properly fulfilling his powers due to "serious pressure," Patskan said.

"There is only one thing I can say to the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber of Russia – this is cynicism. And you are also responsible for the destruction of Ukrainian cities and killing civilians! Thank you colleagues from EUROSAI and INTOSAI !!!" he emphasized.
