The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, confirmed his meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov on 10 March 2022.
He stated this during a national telemarathon broadcast on Monday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"If Mr. Lavrov is ready for a serious, meaningful conversation, then I am ready for it as well. It is because I am ready to talk to anyone for establishing peace in Ukraine, stopping the killings of Ukrainian citizens, and destruction of our cities and villages," - said Kuleba.
The minister emphasized that if Lavrov starts repeating absurd propaganda, he will hear from him "the harsh truth he deserves."
"The first words to Mr. Lavrov will be straightforward. I will tell him:" Mr. Lavrov, I believe that I am holding this meeting with an accomplice and co-organizer of the crime of aggression against Ukraine. At the same time, during this negotiation, you can stop or at least try to stop this crime, so let's talk seriously. "If he is in the mood for a serious conversation, we, as diplomats, will have a serious conversation. If he starts repeating the absurd propaganda, he has been recently saying, then Mr. Lavrov will hear the harsh truth he deserves from me," - Kuleba said.
On the Facebook live stream, the Minister of Foreign Affairs clarified that the meeting is scheduled for 10 March 2022, and he will fly to Antalya if Lavrov arrives there.
"Currently, it is planned for 10 March 2022. Let's see. If he flies to Antalya, I will also fly; we will sit down and talk," Kuleba said.
We should recall that the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu said that a trilateral meeting of the Turkish, Ukrainian, and Russian foreign ministers might take place in Antalya on Thursday, 10 March 2022.
