Since the first day of the Russian invasion, the Ukrainian military has shot down 52 Russian aircraft. This was reported by Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Dozens of the occupier's cruise and ballistic missiles, 52 fighter jets, 69 helicopters, and other small targets were shot down. We are closing the sky ourselves and invite NATO!" the message said.
In addition, one helicopter and three fighters were shot down during the day on 7 March. One of them was shot down in the Kharkiv region by a serviceman of the National Guard. Two more were shot down near Kyiv by the anti-aircraft missile unit and an aircraft fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Air Force.
As a reminder, yesterday, the Ukrainian military shot down two enemy aircraft over Kyiv in less than an hour.
