Сitizens are forbidden to buy currency In Russia

The Central Bank of Russia has introduced new restrictions on the exchange and circulation of foreign currencies.

This was reported by the press service of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

In particular, banks will not sell cash to citizens during this period. Instead, it is allowed to exchange cash for rubles.

Also, citizens of the Russian Federation will be able to withdraw from deposit accounts only dollars and only up to 10 thousand. The rest of the funds will be available in rubles at the exchange rate on the day of issue.

In this case, regardless of the currency of the account, the funds will be converted into dollars - that is, customers will not be able to withdraw funds from the deposit in euros.

This rule will enter into force from Wednesday, 9 March, until 9 September, 2022.

As a reminder, on 7 March, the European Union and the United States stopped supplying euros and dollars in cash to Russia.

Earlier, the United States and the European Union imposed sanctions on a number of Russian banks, as well as the Central Bank of Russia, freezing its foreign exchange assets.

International payment systems Visa and Mastercard have announced their closure in Russia.
