Starting from 9 March 2022, street lights will be turned off in Zhytomyr on the instructions of the military to prevent visual contact between Russian pilots and the ground. The City Mayor, Serhiy Sukhomlyn, announced this information.

According to the mayor, an airstrike on Zhytomyr on 9 March 2022 destroyed a residential building, damaged the hospital's mechanical room, and got the windows of two hospitals broken. There are no victims.

"The windows of the pediatric hospital were broken. There are no injured or killed in the hospitals. An elderly woman was injured in the shelling of a house in Zhytomyr. She left the destroyed house after the shelling on her own. She was taken to hospital with minor injuries," Sukhomlyn said.

Today, on 9 March 2022, the Russian occupiers attacked with artillery fire maternity hospital №2 in Mariupol. According to the head of the Donetsk Region Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, the maternity unit, the hospital, pediatric unit, and therapy unit were destroyed. There were no casualties after the attack on the maternity hospital in Mariupol. So far, 17 staff members and patients are known to have been injured.
