Minister of Defence Oleksiy Reznikov stressed that as of March 10, the Russian military killed more civilians than troops died in the fighting. He stated this in a video message.
Reznikov stressed that resistance to the Russian aggression has been going on for two weeks.
Nobody in the world believed that we would survive. But we don't just hang on. We are already moving to counterattacks. The enemy's plans are broken. The whole world sees this and tries to understand the changes. My great appreciation to all our defenders. To all participants of the people's resistance. To physicians, rescuers, volunteers. Together, we are a force that cannot be defeated," the Minister of Defence said.
Reznikov stressed that after suffering devastating losses, the Russian occupiers started a terrorist war.
"They are behaving like criminals and cowards. They are killing and taking hostage civilians, women, and children. As of March 10, Russian invaders killed more Ukrainian civilian citizens than the military from all defense units who had died in combat. I want this to be heard not only in Ukraine but also worldwide. The Kremlin is bombing schools, hospitals, and maternity hospitals. Moscow is not protecting anyone; it is destroying. They are not able to fight our army, guards, territorial defense. Therefore, they attack the most vulnerable," the Head of the Ministry of Defence stated.
Reznikov noted that we would take revenge for every Ukrainian, and every Russian terrorist will be held accountable for crimes committed against humanity.
"We have lists of participants in the intervention and their accomplices; they will be submitted to all relevant institutions. No one will go unpunished for all the horrors and evil they have brought to Ukraine and the world," Reznikov said.
He also added that the priority now is to organize humanitarian corridors to evacuate citizens from the cities most under attack. Foremost it is Mariupol, cities in Sumy region, Kharkiv region, some suburbs of Kyiv. And also the delivery of humanitarian aid.
Since the beginning of the war, the Russian occupiers have killed 71 children in Ukraine.
