A column of Russian troops about 64 kilometers long, stretching in the direction of Kyiv, began to regroup after standing still for almost a week.
CNN reports this, citing the data from the satellite images of Maxar Technologies.
Parts of the column were significantly dispersed and redeployed, CNN notes, adding that, according to British intelligence released by the British Ministry of Defense, Russia "seeks to regroup its forces to resume offensive operations in the coming days". It is most likely an indicator of a looming attack on Kyiv.
The British Ministry of Defense also stated today that logistics problems continue to restrain Russia's progress, "as well as strong resistance from Ukraine."
Pascal Ianni, the spokesperson of the French Armed Forces, made a similar observation stating that the Russian army was ill-prepared for the invasion of Ukraine and is now facing a lot of difficulties, “especially in the logistics and intelligence.”
“Maybe the attack on Kyiv will be made in the next few days, but to actually take over control of Kyiv is an entirely different thing, and it will take a lot of time,” he said.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the primary Russian efforts are concentrated on Kyiv and Mariupol and advancing in the direction of Kryvyy Rih, Kremenchuk Nikopol, and Zaporizhzhia.
