Around 8:30 PM in Kharkiv, Russian aviation shelled the Institute of Physics and Technology, announced the Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Geratshenko via hit Telegram channel.
"Here in 1930, for the first time in Europe, the neutron was discovered. The site also contains the sources of radioactivity used for scientific purposes," wrote Geratshenko.
On March 6, Russian forces shelled the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology territory using Grad multiple rocket launchers.
The Institute hosts nuclear research facility "Neutron Source," with 37 nuclear fuel cells in its core. Destruction of nuclear facilities and storage can lead to a large-scale environmental disaster. Kharkiv office of the Security Service of Ukraine of Kharkiv region opened a criminal investigation of ecocide.
