As of the evening of 6 March 2022, Ukrzaliznytsia has transported 1.59m people from the east, center, and south of Ukraine to the west.

This news was announced by the Chairman of the Company Board, Olexandr Kamyshin.

He noted that another 108,000 people used Ukrzaliznytsia services to travel abroad from the country's west.

"We deliberately exchanged comfort and speed for safety. Now it is the main thing. I apologize again to our passengers for the inconvenience. But our goal now is to allow everyone to escape the shelling. Every night, all key stations end the day almost without passengers. This is the result of the collective work of the whole team. I am now warmed by one thought. One and a half million of our citizens will sleep peacefully today without waking up from the explosions, "Kamyshin said.

He also said that within the framework of the "Zalizna Dopomoha" (Iron Aid) program, the company is increasing the transportation of humanitarian aid in the opposite direction - from the west to the regions where it is needed.

As a reminder, Ukrainian refugees will be able to live and work in the EU for up to three years and in the United States for up 1.5 years.
