Sumy was given a green corridor, the first stage of evacuation has began.
The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko posted a video of the evacuation.
Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, Head of the Sumy Regional State Administration, noted that the regional state administration is working on organizing the people's trip together with Members of Parliament such as Mykhailo Ananchenko, Tetyana Skrypka and the Sumy City Council.
"We join forces and organize transport as much as possible, as well as a request to use, if possible, our own, to help our loved ones," he said.
We remind, that Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, stated that a humanitarian corridor for the city of Sumy should be open today from 09:00 to 21:00.
This fact was officially agreed with Russia in an official letter to the International Committee of the Red Cross. The route of the humanitarian corridor for evacuation of people is: Sumy - Golubivka - Lokhvytsia - Lubny - Poltava. No other routes were agreed upon.
At the same time, according to Vereshchuk, there is information has received already that the Russian side has planned to disrupt the work of humanitarian corridors, manipulations with the route are being prepared to force people to go the other way.
