Ukrainian sambo champion Artem Pryimenko was killed in a Russian airstrike in Sumy.

This news was announced by his coach Yevhen Leonenko.

He said that Artem and his father, mother, grandmother, and two younger brothers had died.

"Tonight in Sumy, on Romenska Street, during airstrikes conducted by Russian troops on residential areas where only civilians live, died Artem Priymenko. He was born in 2006, he was a champion of Ukrainian sambo competitions ... Our student ... Our athlete ... He died together with his father, mother, grandmother and two younger brothers, Yehor and Kyryl ... It is a huge woe for the family of sambo wrestlers, relatives and for all of us ... ", - Leonenko wrote.

On 7 March 2022, after 23:00, Russian aircraft bombed residential areas in Sumy and Okhtyrka, and destroyed houses in the village of Bytytsa.

"Just near the center of Sumy, on Romenska Street, several houses were destroyed by a bomb. They were wiped off the face of the Earth. These were private houses. There are dead. Unfortunately, among the dead, there are children. The list of fatal victims includes more than ten people,” said the head of the Sumy Region Military Administration, Dmytro Zhyvytsky.

On the morning of 8 March 2022, the bombing in Sumy killed 21 people, including two children.
