In the Luhansk region, the joint unit of border guards and the Armed Forces of Ukraine (UAF) restrained the enemy offensive, reported the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on their Facebook page.
“The enemy’s infantry met strong resistance and lost at least ten people. Two men from the enemy forces surrendered,” the State Border Guard Service said.
The captured introduced themselves as the residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The men said they were mobilized against their will.
On 23 February the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense announced that mass mobilization of locals was underway in temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The occupying authorities forcibly took conscripts to the military enlistment offices from public places.
On 4 March the Human Rights Center, ZMINA, addressed the residents of the territories occupied by Russia and explained what to do if the Russian military tried to “mobilize” them to fight in the war against Ukraine.
