Today Russian armed forces hit the Oskil psychoneurological care home in the Kharkiv region.
At the moment of shelling, there were 330 people at the home, among them 50 sedentary and 10 people in wheelchairs. This is reported by the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Administration Oleh Syniehubov.
The number of casualties is being established. Before the attack, 73 people were evacuated to the neighbouring care home.
“This is a war crime against civilians, genocide against the Ukrainian nation! Against all the odds, the Armed Forces of Ukraine keep holding the fort and won’t give the enemy a single centimeter!” he declares.
Syniehubov adds that thanks to the solid defence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy cannot take Kharkiv. The occupiers wanted to capture the city, but fierce resistance both on the frontline and in the rear didn’t let them do it.
The most critical point in the region is still Izium.
As a reminder, there is an evacuation planned for today from Izium to Lozova (Izium – Mala Komyshuvakha – Barvinkove – Blyzniuky – Lozova). The evacuation buses will enter from the city of Lozova. Also, a delivery of humanitarian aid is planned.
During yesterday’s evacuation the enemy opened fire, but the Ukrainian defenders helped to evacuate around 1,600 civilians. On 6 March Russians shelled directly at the hospital in Izium. A shell hit the admission department.
