Basically, there isn’t such a city as Volnovakha anymore (Donetsk region). Most of the population has been evacuated, and the infrastructure is ruined. This is reported in the statement made by the Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko.
“Before the war, which started on 24 February, the Volnovakha district had more than 100 thousand residents. Of course, most of the population has been evacuated. So this is what I’m saying, Volnovakha as a city and its infrastructure don’t exist anymore. The fighting for the territory still goes on, not to let the enemy close the circle and implement their tactical and strategic plans,” he notes.
As a reminder, on 12 March the General Staff announced that Russian occupiers had reached the eastern outskirts of Mariupol.
Also there was a shelling of the mosque of Suleiman the Magnificent and his wife Hurrem Sultan (Roxelana).
On 11 March the evacuation from Mariupol and Volnovakha didn’t work because of Russians violating the ceasefire.
