“There are explosions in Kyiv. Two at 4 a.m., another two at 5 a.m. The last two were heard somewhere on the left bank,” the statement says.
According to official data, the buildings and houses in Sviatoshynskyi, Podilskyi, Shevchenkivskyi districts, and near Osokorky were hit. According to the SES spokesperson, Svitlana Vodolaha, as of 8 a.m., two people died due to the attack on the capital.
Update: According to the State Emergency Service, on March 15, in the Podilskyi district of Kyiv, due to a missile hit on a ten-story residential building on Mostitska street, the building caught fire from the 1st to the 5th floor.
“At 6.46 a.m., the fire was localized; at 6.51 a.m., it was put out. The SES department saved one person who was hospitalized. Ten personnel and two equipment units were working on-site,” the statement said.
In addition, in the Osokorky area, ammunition hit a two-story private house, the Interior Ministry said.
“There are no victims and injured. SES engaged ten personnel and two equipment units on site,” the statement said.
The blast also severely damaged the building of the Lukianivska metro station.
In addition, the ammunition hit high-rise buildings in the Sviatoshynskyi district.
"There was minor damage to the (nine-story) building with subsequent minor local fires on the floors. At 05:36 a.m., the fires were localized. The SES involved ten people and five vehicles on site. Also, there was a hit in Sviatoshynskyi district buildings with subsequent fires from the 1st to the 16th floors. The bodies of two people were found at the scene; 27 citizens were rescued," the rescuers said.
At around 11 a.m. on Monday, March 14, the air defense shot down a Russian missile. Its debris hit a residential building in the Podil district.
