While in Ukraine and meeting with its authorities, Peter Maurer, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross, promised to intensify the organization of humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians.

This was reported in the official telegram channel by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Tymoshenko.

"Mariupol, other cities, towns, and villages of Ukraine, where the occupiers are waging war against the civilian population, need immediate evacuation and delivery of humanitarian goods," he said.

According to Tymoshenko, the Red Cross is an essential participant in these processes. That is why the organization opened an office in Kyiv. It is also expected that similar offices will operate in other cities of Ukraine.
