The damage caused to infrastructure by the full-scale war of the RF against Ukraine increased by $ 8.3bn and reached $ 62.6bn in a week, said the analytical department of the Kyiv School of Economics KSE Institute.
"In a week, the damage caused to Ukraine's infrastructure in the war started by Russia increased by at least $ 8.3bn. As of 17 March 2022, this amount is 1.8 trillion hryvnias, or $ 62.6bn," the KSE Institute said in a release on Thursday, referring to the analysis of data within the "Russia will pay"project.
According to the KSE Institute, among other losses, there are at least 411 educational institutions, 36 health care facilities, 1,600 residential buildings, 26 factories/warehouses, 6 TPPs / HPPs damaged, destroyed, or seized since the Russian military invasion on 24 February 2022. In addition, more than 15,000 km of roads, 5,000 km of railways were lost, 15 airports, 350 bridges and bridge crossings were destroyed/decommissioned, etc.
According to calculations of the Ministry of Economy, the damage already caused by the Russian aggression to the infrastructure of Ukraine reached almost 120bn dollars or nearly 3,6 trillion hryvnias. However, the ministry also took into account the losses of the businesses, which had to close due to war actions, and the blockade of the Black Sea, which prevents the export of goods from Ukraine.
