Germany supplies firefighting equipment to Ukraine

German Development Minister Svenja Schulze announced supplying heavy firefighting equipment and civil protection equipment to Ukraine. This was reported by "European Truth" media.

On Friday, March 18, 21 portable fire pumps were sent to Ukraine, as well as a large number of protective clothing, rescue equipment and an evacuation bus.

On Monday, March 21, nine trucks will arrive to transport heavy firefighting equipment, and on Wednesday - about 1,600 breathing apparatus.

"It is important to provide concrete assistance to people in need in Ukraine. We have been working closely with Ukraine on development policy for many years. Of course, our projects cannot continue as before,” said Schultze.

According to Schulze, 2,000 electricity generators and numerous water tanks, tents and sleeping bags are already on their way to Ukraine.

"The current goal is fast and unbureaucratic assistance, which is delivered day by day to where it is most needed. For example, we help with fire extinguishers, trucks, electricity generators, shelter for people fleeing, and psychological support," she said.

The Netherlands and Germany will supply Slovakia with American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems instead of its S-300 air defense systems, which it will hand over to Ukraine.

Germany's two largest energy companies have announced they will not sign new deals to buy Russian gas and coal.
