On 21 March, Russian occupiers released Victoria Roshchina, a journalist with Hromadske TV, the media reported.
Currently, the journalist is in the territory controlled by Ukraine. She is going to Zaporizhzhya, where she is meeting her relatives.
Meanwhile, pro-Russian media and Telegram channels are broadcasting a video in which Roshchina denies claims against her abductors and says they allegedly saved her life.
"This recording, which became a condition of release, the journalist recorded under pressure from Russian security forces. Victoria will tell the whole truth about the detention and captivity herself in the nearest future," - Hromadske TV said.
On 18 March, Hromadske published a material that reported that Roshchina, probably, was in captivity of the Russian occupiers. The journalist was preparing materials from hotspots in Eastern and Southern Ukraine during all the days of the Russian-Ukrainian war and was planning to go to Mariupol. On the way to the city, colleagues lost contact with her and soon figured out that Roshchina was detained by the Russian FSB.
