Egils Levits, President of Latvia, has visited the Riga Ukrainian middle school and kindergarten which works under the school, reports the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia.
Levits has met the administration and the protegees of the institution.
“In his speech, the Head of the Latvian state has ensured those present in the unchanging and consistent support of Ukrainian people by Latvia, in providing their assistance to Ukrainian citizens who have come to Latvia, in all the areas,” - the Ukrainian embassy notifies.
The Ambassador of Ukraine Oleksandr Mishchenko has thanked Egils Levits for the aid to our country and its citizens.
Currently, 128 pupils, moved from Ukraine because of the military aggression by Russia, have been accepted to the Riga Ukrainian middle school, and 7 children to the kindergarten. 7 members of the teaching staff have been able to get hired.
On March 21, the President of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis has met with the Ukrainian refugees in Poland.
