Putin is to ban Russians from departing Crimea - Chief Directorate of Intelligence

The occupying country is preparing to block the departure of Russians from the territory of Crimea. The National Guard of Russia will execute the blockade including ferry traffic and air connection.

This was reported in the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense. The formal reason for this decision of Russian authorities is the fight against "Ukrainian saboteurs" and prevention of "terrorist attacks".

"This is a response of the occupant to the panic among Russian citizens who illegally moved to Ukrainian Crimea after February 2014. The occupiers are trying to stop the flow of refugees from the peninsula provoked in recent weeks by the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February. The forefront of such ‘fugitives’ comprises of members of the families of Russian law enforcement and military officers and representatives of the occupation administration of Sevastopol. They sell their real estate property, change their residence and try to relocate other assets from Crimea in a hurry”, intelligence says.

Restrictions on leaving Crimea are in fact holding hostage 600,000 Russians who are illegally staying there and start to understand the uncertainty of their legal status.

It is noted that some Russian Crimean marine corps lost up to 90% of personnel and have no reserves.
