Ukraine hopes that Israel will become one of the guarantors of the future international agreement about security guarantees after the ending of the war with Russia.
This was reported by the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak during his communication with the Israeli press.
“Such an agreement implies a long list of countries – potential guarantors. This is why we hold separate consultations with each of these countries. Then we will be able to meet all together,” the leader of the OPU reports.
He adds that Ukraine welcomes the mediator role of Israel in the attempts to stop the war.
“We are impressed by how Israeli senior officials are perfectly familiar with the material, in particular the Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. We think that he is truly willing to do everything necessary for bringing peace to our land and stopping the war,” the head of the OPU says.
At the same time, Yermak emphasizes that Ukraine is not going to make compromises as for its independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Apart from that, Ukraine would like to receive more help from the State of Israel in terms of weapons and military technology. Andriy Yermak notes that the government of Israel also has to solve the issue that was perceived very negatively in Ukraine. It was when the rules of entry to the country were changed for our citizens and electronic permissions were adopted.
As a reminder, Israel refused to supply weapons to Ukraine explaining that by their mediator role in the negotiations with Russia. Ambassador Brodsky said that weapon supplies may “nullify” the state’s efforts in the negotiations with Russia about stopping the war.
